The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 整体而言剧情相对于漫画并没有做出什么改动，但这却是最完美的体现。

五年前Tallulah的导演，圣丹斯两部长片出徒的好例子。好笑也好哭的家庭片。唯一还显得“独立”的地方在于导演谈到最难的地方是买不起想要的歌的版权，还憨憨地给Stevie Wonder发过邮件，还好听过一百多个小姑娘的试镜后倦到换歌也无妨了。爸爸的演员不错，车后唱歌那幕提议把最后一句手语台词删掉，然后这段试戏的时候就直接演得把女主小姑娘给感动哭了。
